Mini Gears is a privately owned UK subcontract manufacturing company, located in a modern 35,000 sq.ft. facility in Stockport, near Manchester.

Established in 1966 we have predominantly supplied worldwide to the power transmission industry.

Now, with current customer demands and a working environment that continually embraces the need for change, we have expanded our range of products through our overseas sourcing and can supply to any industry requiring machined parts, gears, racks and all types of castings and forgings.

All our products are specifically manufactured to customer drawings and we have won many major international industry awards for innovation and subcontracting achievements.

Mini Gears' UK facility has a large machine shop with over 150 machines and 80 staff dedicated to component manufacture.

History

Mini Gears was established in 1966 and manufactured small gears for low volume requirements.

The company has grown significantly after the introduction of CNC machines as far back as 1979.

Company able to successfully compete for larger volume and overseas work.

Size of gears increased - now manufactures gears from 25mm to 600mm for medium to high volume requirements.

1995 the company opened up its rack division and now supplies over 300,000 metres (one million feet) of gear racks per annum, mainly to the stairlift industry.

1998 company has outgrown premises and relocated to world-class facility in Stockport where it enjoys good motorway and public transport links.

2002 customer price demands - Mini Gears sets up overseas sourcing facility in China for gear products.

2003 customer product demands - Mini Gears augments product range to include castings, forgings and machined parts.

2007 Mini Gears launches its global sourcing division. Components Worldwide - your global sourcing gateway.

2007 Expanding its operation in Europe, Mini Gears purchases Geartech s.r.o. in the Czech Republic and relocates to larger premises.

2007/8 Mini Gears begin sourcing in India, purchasing machined parts, gears and forgings.
